cooking jam

You need wonderful fruits as you can see, fresh out of the garden or like the kilos of strawberries from the market!


Then you squish a kilo of them


prepare clean glasses


put the fruits in a big pan, and add half as much sugar 500g and a bit lemon, about two big ones, for the taste and that it keeps its wonderful red colour!


bring to boil..



be careful dont stop stiring and use a glove because its very hot! It needs to boild about 3 or 4 minutes depends on the sugar but they say it n the package!


and fill it into the glasses, first a little bit and after a few seconds you fill them up otherwise the glass can break because of the heat! Then close them and turn them around to cool down to create a vacuum!

Those are squished peaches! My mum likes this jam with rum!
We did currant jam as well, but we cheated a bit, because we used currant juice instead of fruits, because otherwise its so much work, with the juice you just need to add the juice of two lemons that it doesn´t gets to sweet.
